Their search will take them into the mystical world of gypsy tradition and magic, more exciting and dangerous than any of them could have imagined.

Book Review

The story features Carolina, who is a teacher at an orphanage called the Wood Rose Orphanage and Academy for Young Women. She is in charge of three wards, who are collectively known as the FIGs. This stands for Females of Intellectual Genius. Each of these young women had a high IQ and were talented in different fields. They were in the top 2% of the entire population of the nation. Naturally it was a challenge to keep them gainfully occupied. So they would come up with "Creative Expressions" or acts that were scandalizing and shocking to the rest of the residents of the orphanage and an absolute pain to the headmaster, Dr Thurgood James Harcourt.

In a bid to keep the girls out of trouble and to solve a mystery of her own parentage, Carolina proposes that she take them to Italy to study one of the world's most obscure and challenging manuscripts. Dara, Meckanzie and Jennifer all jump at the chance of an adventure of a lifetime to visit Villa Mondragone. Their Italian contact Lucia manages to find them a place to stay with a local family who adopts the girls through love and they get started on the library. That's when the gypsy curse comes into play. How are they going to save Carolina when they have no idea what is wrong with her?

Enjoyed the book. Story line was different and added some supernatural elements that made for interesting reading. Look forward to reading the rest of the series. I was gifted the book
